Rowing for the young and the young-at-heart!

Registration for the 2018 season is now available!  Please go to our Join Us page for detailed information on the new registration process.

We're a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the sport of rowing to interested adults and to middle school and high school students.  We've taught over 500 local area students and adults the skills and discipline of rowing.

Adult rowers, ages 19 to ...  We refer to these rowers as Masters Crew.

  • Experienced Masters practices are held on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6pm (5:30pm in the short winter days) and on Saturdays and Sundays at 7am.
  • Novice Masters' skills-building practices are held on Wednesdays at 6pm (5:30pm in the shorter winter days) and Sundays  at 7am.  For 2018 there will be additional practices available on Saturdays at 7am.
  • Additional practices may be held for race preparation and for sculling, and frequently there are weekday morning practices.
  • After practices we usually meet to refuel at one of the many fine local restaurants for dinner or breakfast.

Youth rowers (HS and MS Students, ages 13 to 18) which we refer to as Scholastic Crew.

  • The High School Crew practices Monday through Thursday starting at approximately 3:30 pm and Saturday at 9:00 am.
  • Middle School Crew practices are normally held on Monday and Wednesday at 3:30 pm and on Saturdays at 9:30 am.
  • All rowers in the Scholastic Crew programs receive dedicated coaching in rowing technique as well as personal fitness instruction from our staff of US Rowing certified coaches. The Scholastic Crew practices generally last about two hours.

Getting started: Adults

If you are interested in the sport of rowing and in learning to row, we offer programs throughout the year to introduce both adults and youth to our wonderful sport.  Link to our Adult Learn To Row Program info page to read about our latest Learn To Row Programs which are held 4-5 times a year.

Getting started: High School

This program is for high school age rowers.  New rowers are accepted year round through our youth Rowing Camps and Learn To Row sessions.  The focus of the high school rowing program is on developing and refining consistently good rowing technique coupled with strength and endurance conditioning; practices are held five days per week.  Girls and boys will compete in local and regional regattas.  Parental participation is encouraged.

Getting started: Middle School

We have a program specific to middle school age rowers.  No prior rowing experience is necessary.  The focus is on developing good rowing skills but mixed in with a moderate emphasis on competition.  Practices are held three times per week.

The CCRC Mission
